Courses

Our online language courses are based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR): A1 – C2.

Our language courses are practice-oriented. Our main aim is to prepare you for a wide range of communication situations, to develop your desire to speak and ultimately to help you overcome your fear of speaking.

Before each online course, there is an individual conversation to determine the level of learning and to explain the course strategy, as well as to get to know each other. The chemistry has to be right!

Conversation course B1/B2

4 x monthly conversation course – every Wednesday from 6 p.m. German time, for 2 teaching hours, online via zoom
4 x monthly grammar course – 30 minutes also online on Wednesdays after the conversation course via zoom
8 monthly corrections
Daily grammar exercises with explanations in the WhatsApp group of the course

Our conversation course uses current examples from the German media (including Deutsch Perfekt, FAZ, die Süddeutsche and Spiegel) to introduce you to topics relevant to Germany. We thus specifically train linguistic action not only in professional life.

Your knowledge of language is trained interactively, for example in pro and con discussions. You learn to exchange arguments, to represent opinions and to justify them. You will communicate actively and with commitment in German.

In addition, guests are invited to talk about special topics related to the language, such as Mr. Ingo Schoenleber (https://www.ingoschoenleber.com/deutsch), who spoke on May 10, 2023 about “People with perfectionism when learning German.” On May 29, 2024, we welcomed Koukidis from Greece, the head of the Praxis Spezialverlag DaF publishing house, the head of the Germanika language school, as our guest. He talked about his not always easy path to mastering the wonderful German language and was available to answer questions afterwards. A memorable evening!

The new three-month course begins on September 4, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. German time. Two places have become available. It is an international conversation course. Participants from France, Switzerland, Italy, Kazakhstan, Romania, etc. take part.

Many former students have passed the C1 exam after this course (see ratings).

Grammar Course

Have you been learning German for years but still feel insecure when using the target language?

To overcome this fear, you need a sound knowledge of the German language. Understanding and being able to apply the formal peculiarities as well as the functions and meanings of the linguistic means is a complex topic that will be explored in this grammar course!

To put it more simply, how does the German language work? This grammar course will boost your language awareness.

The new course starts on October 1, 2024.

Business Communication – Course

This course focuses on language skills for the workplace. It is an ideal preparation for the PWD – Wirtschaftsdeutsch International exam.

According to DIHK-Bildungs-gGmbH, the subsidiary of the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Berlin, the PWD exam is the gateway to the German economy for foreign specialists and executives. Successful graduates demonstrate language skills at a level above C1. They receive the diploma: “International Business German”.

Prerequisites for participating in the new business communication course: knowledge of German at least at B2 level. After this course, you will feel much more confident in German when negotiating, conducting daily correspondence and attending trade fairs, among other things.

The new course starts on October 1, 2024.

The first six-week DaF Teachers’ Seminar with Mrs. Lotzen as a lecturer on the topic: “German grammar is just as understandable as mathematics” took place from July 12 to August 16, 2023. Teachers from the following countries participated: Ukraine, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Albania, Italy, Poland, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Greece and Senegal. As a result, the language club “SelbstbewusstDeutschSprechen” for colleagues in German as a foreign language was launched. For details, see News. The 6-week summer seminar entitled “German grammar is just as easy to understand as mathematics” was a great success. Participants from Italy, Congo, Senegal, Romania, Switzerland and Germany took part this time.

Children:

Courses for the new 2024/25 school year will start at the beginning of September in levels B1, B2, C1 and communication. We are still looking for children to complement the one-to-one courses of those already studying as tandem partners.
